Response to Monday Poetry Prompt #9: To Nerd or Not To Nerd

I love the Big Bang Theory
I find the show quite cheery
With Rajesh, and Leonard
Penny, Sheldon, and Howard
The humor it never is dreary

Sheldon Cooper has no social skills
And he lives a life with no frills
Barry and the Kripke Killer
gave M.O.N.T.E quite the thriller
But his "Bazinga" gives me the chills

Leonard has half a clue
in all things he tries to do
but half a clue aint enough
for most of the stuff
us humans are apt to do.

You

Your eyes are a deep blue
The refreshing color of the water around me
Your hair flows exquisitely
The swells of the sea I swim in
Your skin is smooth and beautiful
The wet sand on the beach I stroll across
Your musical voice
The sound of the waves I love to hear
Your high aspirations
The gulls in flight looking down upon me
Your loving heart
The warm sun which makes me warm inside
Your kindness
The waves that give and take again
Your delicate touch
The light breeze that makes my skin tingle
Your wonderful scent,
The salt air overloading my senses.

Love, abstract

Is it really greed?
Blue - so seemed the ancient prophet.
If the eternal midnight ages
Why does wanton creature not shudder?

A dagger speaks amidst the islands;
And an organ deeply laughs.
He - an alien that awakens at night,
An envy sings inside the princess;

Professionally.

Paranoia

The spies who hate everyone
are still waiting for you, stupid.
They have dreadful eating habits,
and can't keep their hands off you.
A glass of wine would help now.
And you wonder why you've never noticed
that you're not getting any laughs.

Lessons

I'm learning to be happy with myself
And I'm learning to love my life
And I'm learning to love those around me
Not use them, when I need something
And I'm learning not to lie
And I'm learning not to exaggerate
And I'm learning (though it sometimes really hurts me)
Not to hide from the truth.
And I'm learning to smile
When I laugh
And I'm learning that it's much
Much easier to be myself

The First Day

The Lord, our God, said
"Let there be light"...
Instantly
My soul was freed from the darkness of confusion
And warmed by the light of understanding
My entire being became infused with an energy.
Like love - it made me happy
And like terror - it frightened me

... and the darkness and the light were
    the first day

Oak Barrels and Hamburgers

For several months we have been
 under your spell, smiling and
cooing at your sweet and loving
 kindness.

Your motivation still isn't clear -
 once thought to be pure,
 unadulterated.
 Admirable;

lately, however, you have been hateful,
 evil.
Exclusive

Together; Alone

My heart sought true and loving compassion,
my mind ached longingly to be understood,
my eternal search for respect is unending,
and my desire to be loved is insatiable.
My body yearns for the electric contact
of your masterful fingers, but I am alone

I need time to be myself, alone
with my thoughts. Your compassion
compels me, but I am left without contact.
I tell you my story. You said you understood -
that you didn't mind, your drive was insatiable
and our lovemaking sessions would be unending.

But we fought. The yelling, the screaming was unending,
You lied to me. I would have been better off alone.
Your appetite for destruction is insatiable;
You show little to no compassion,
but question why you are never understood
I tried to soothe you, but my contact

repulsed you, made your cringe. Your contact
is cold and hateful. Your spite unending
and hot as the sun. I understood
your perspective. You didn't want to be alone,
you didn't think you deserved compassion
and your desire to be loved was insatiable.

Our desire for each other is insatiable,
but neither of us can handle the contact
of the other. The most compassion-
ate outcome is to be separate. An unending
sentence of solitude. Forever alone
in a world that is only barely understood

by two people. And only two. If the world understood
how our insanity was normal, our insatiable
desires for each other require us to be alone
separate from each other, separated from contact
with the world, filled with an unending
desire and need for true compassion,

to be understood, to share compassion
and an insatiable desire for unending
solitude. Alone in the world, devoid of contact.
